The secret diary of a single parent bloke
I’ve been to collect some things that I’d left at Jody’s house. It’s been nearly two months, and I’ve been putting off picking them up- I’m not sure I can bare to see her again. We’ve exchanged a few messages during this time, and she posted a birthday present to Natalia, which was nice of her.
It was a 45 minute drive to her house, and a sunny winter’s day, but I was trembling all of the way. How would I feel? How would she act? Would there be any chance of a reconciliation? I really hoped so, but despite how I felt, I knew that we’d broken up for the right reasons.
I eventually got to her house and knocked on the door. It seemed to take an eternity before she answered it, but when she did, I was met by her wonderful wide smile- and my heart lifted. She looked happy to see me, and asked how I was. I hoped she’d ask me in, but I was really worried about how I’d handle the situation, I was as nervous as hell!
Then I glanced over her shoulder. On her sofa was a man- one who looked just like me. He was even dressed in a similar way. My heart sank. I can’t even remember what we next said, but I left very quickly. I was distraught.
