The secret diary of a single parent bloke
After my trip to the Police Station, I contacted the credit card company and gave them the crime number and other information that they said they needed to launch an investigation.
The police also asked for certain documents from the credit card company, so I feel like a bit of a gopher between the two.
Today, they have said that they will launch an investigation, provide me with the documentation required by the police and finally agreed to stop adding interest and non-payment charges to the account. However, the arrears figure they’d given me was incorrect, it was actually over £6500.
Despite the fact that this is now officially a police matter, the credit card company seem very lax on security- last time I spoke to them we set up a password on the account, but so far none of their staff have asked for it, or even bothered to try to verify my identity.
I can’t (and won’t) pay the credit card company the money, and Katrina doesn’t deserve to get away with this, but I really just want this to go away. But between Katrina’s deviousness and the credit card company’s incompetence, I think I’m in for a bumpy ride.
