The secret diary of a single parent bloke
It’s my birthday tomorrow, I’ll be the big THREE OH. It’s certainly been a traumatic month, and a traumatic period overall. The previous decade has seen me buy my first house, get married, become a father (twice), separate, and become a single parent. A time for reflection? Sod that, I’ve been to the pub with my Dad, Niall and Sam for lots of beer.
I’ve really enjoyed the night. I can’t remember the last time I went out to the pub, blokes only, and had a laugh. I can’t remember the last time that happened. I can’t remember the last time I laughed. It felt great.
And thank you to my Mom, Lydia and Sam’s wife for babysitting.
Half term begins tomorrow, I’ve got the day booked off work, and I can have a lie-in. What a great way to spend the last day of your 29th year (although I also have an appointment with a solicitor too).
